Tags – Settings

Brandengine provides you with an extra customisable layer of data classification by using Tags.

By definition ~ Tags are customisable labels that you can assign to your data to provide additional context and organisation. This helps you easily filter, search, and categorise your information based on your own specific criteria. For example, you could tag a contact with “VIP” or a Quote with “Urgent”.

Tag sets are user definable so that your version of Brandengine “speaks the language” of your organisation. Tags can be used in a host of locations throughout the platform.

To add/edit your Tags – navigate to Company-wide Settings then All Tags
(Mainmenu>YourCompany>Company-wideSettings>OptionTypes>AllTags)

The above will display all tag-sets by location that they are available.

NB Enquiries and Projects use the same tag-set as they are essentially the same thing – one is pre-sale, the other post-sale.

You can also locate the specific tag-set (and other settings) by the Entity Types menu in Company-wide Settings.
(Mainmenu>YourCompany>Company-wideSettings>EntityTypes – then select the entity)

eg – The below image shows all of the customisable settings in the Companies entity type

Tags are filterable in the Custom View/Summary Boards to provide easy access to specific data.

Tag Colours

To provide better visual context, you can customise the colour of all tags within Brandengine—including system tags.

Here’s how to change a tag’s colour:

  1. Click the colour field of the tag you wish to update, and a colour palette will appear.
  2. The current colour for the tag will be enlarged for easy identification.
  3. To assign a new colour, simply click your desired option from the palette.

Brandengine also highlights which colours are already in use. Additionally, the “Also change colour of all other tags with this name” option allows you to quickly apply the same colour to other tags containing the same text system wide.

You can also:

  • Re-order tags by dragging with the grab handle
  • Name/edit the tag
  • Delete the tag
NB – Only Unused tags can be deleted.

Be sure to when you are done.

Tip ~ We recommend that you assign the creation of tags to only a select few people in your organisation to ensure the tag-sets remain relevant and don’t become unweldly.
