Monthly Sales Targets
Initial setting
The metrics by which performance targets are shown is defined in Company settings by an Admin
(MainMenu>YourCompany>Company-wideSettings>YourCompany>CompanySettings>DefaultSettings)
In this block you will see Sales target is…
This allows you to define whether the monthly targets by team member are based on Total Sales Value – or Total Profit
(NB – this selection also dictates which metric appears on the top of the bar chart on the dashboard)
Team Member Settings
Individual Monthly Targets are enabled within the profile card for each Team Member that requires this KPI setting. (MainMenu>YourCompany>TeamMembers)
Once enabled, you will be able to enter the dollar value of targets (sales or profit) by month for your financial year. This can be entered for the full year, or 1 month at a time, and can always be edited.
Your Financial Year is also defined in Company settings
Even if the you set targets based on Total Sales – you can set a target profit level to be achieved in tandem.
NB – the Target Profit setting in the individual Team Member card is based on margin
All of the above information is used to setup the Monthly Sales Target graphs. These are visible at the top your Dashboard and display 2 bars
Sales Targets
- Sales Target
- if you have selected Total Sales as your target metric in Company settings, and have assigned targets to your Team Members, this value is displayed as the top bar in the chart.
- If you have selected Total Profit dollar value as your target metric – Brandengine will work in tandem with the Team Members Target profit margin value to calculate the required Sales Value to achieve the profit target
- Profit Target
- if you have selected Total Profit as your target metric in Company settings, and have assigned targets to your Team Members, this value is displayed as the top bar in the chart.
- If you have selected Total Sales as your target metric – Brandengine will calculate the required $ value based on the target profit % (margin) set in the Team Members profile card (Under the monthly targets)
Graph Colours & Shading
- If the target is still to be reached, the graph bars will be Blue
- Once the target has been reached/surpassed for the month – the graph bar/s will become Green and the will graphically show how far over target you are.
- The Monthly Sales bar (top bar in this example) is duo tone to display performance visually.
- The light blue (or green) bar represents costs
- The dark blue (or green) bar represents profit
- The combined blue (or green) bar represents total sales (both light and dark bars)
NB – These bars operate independently
ie – if the $ Sales Target has been reached – but – the Profit $ Values has not been reached – the Sales bar will be green whilst the Profit bar will still be blue (and vice versa)
(Targets shown are intended for display purposes only)
Numerical Values
The boxes under the graphs display various numerical values for a variety of metrics with most being self explanatory.
Approved displays how many sales have been generated (approved quotes) this month to make up the values shown.
Entire Business Performance
To see how the entire business is performing against consolidated targets – you can toggle the graph between “You” and “Team” view (Top right corner of the graph)
NB – The Date Markers
The date marker operates independently on each bar and works in relation to the position of the Sales Target marker.
eg – If you exceed the Sales budget, the Sales Target marker will move left showing the over achievement visually. The Date marker will also move left accordingly. As a result, the date marker on the top and bottom bar may not align depending on performance.
