Check all prices are current – Price Check/Updater

We’ve all encountered situations where we need to review pricing in a quote that was prepared a while ago.

Examples of this maybe when quoting for a repeat order or refreshing an outdated proposal.

The “Check all prices are current” function on your quote screen provides a quick way to do this.

By clicking this button…
Brandengine---Check-All Prices-are-Current
…located under the green +Add an item to quote button on the right of screen, Brandengine checks pricing for each line item in your quote against available pricing for that specific item/service in Promodata and your database.

A new row will appear beneath each line item that provides a range of functions

This row includes:

A visual que next to each quantity break in the quote that will quickly tell you if the unit and or fixed price is current.

Green Tick
The price is the same as that in your database/provided to Promodata by the supplier.

Arrows & Exclamation Mark
Up and Down arrows indicate if pricing has increased or decreased.
The number of arrows and colour of the icon demonstrate the scale of the change.
The exclamation mark appears when your attention is required.

Tip: if in doubt – hover over the icon for a tool tip

$ Update quote
If the checked price varies from that in your quote, simply click the green text button “to the left of the new pricing “$ Update quote” to refresh pricing for that line item. (and save your quote)

What if I edited the cost price manually?

If you have manually overridden or entered the cost price in any field, Brandengine helps identify this by changing the field colour to green.

In this situation – pricing will not update when you click $ Update quote as it is not a database price.

To update this field, you will need to first delete the price that was manually entered – then click $ Update quote – or manually override the price to reflect the new/revised cost.

What if Pricing No Longer Exists

Discontinued Items
If the product/line item has been flagged as discontinued (in either Promodata or your internal database), a red banner will appear in your quote.
This banner will appear regardless of whether your have switched on the check prices function

Deleted Pricing
If pricing is deleted from your database a few things may happen depending on the scenario

  • If it is the only price associated with the item a yellow banner will appear.

  • If the line item containing the price was part of a price set with other options you will be prompted to select another item from the price set. (Or you can delete the line item in the quote and apply another one from your catalogue)

Tip: When used in conjunction with the duplicate item or duplicate price function this provides a very fast way to configure item variations for your clients.

eg:
Customer wants a bag price with a 1 colour print and a 4 colour print option and the supplier has include these prices in their data for their item (Or you’ve loaded the variants into your database in the same item price set – eg – Plastisol Transfer)

  • Configure the quote for the 1 colour pricing
  • Duplicate the price set
  • Click the Check all prices button
  • On the 1 colour print line item – click view all prices
  • Select the 4 colour print – and update
    ~ easy
